HC Deb 21 December 1962 vol 669 c256W
Captain Kerby

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he will instruct the new Governor of Kenya that his first duty is to ensure the safety of Britons who were induced to settle in Kenya by successive British Governments and to render to them every assistance, particularly to the aged and infirm, to leave the country before independence if they desire to do so.

Mr. Fisher

As stated in the reply which my right hon. Friend gave on 11th December he is already in consultation with the present Governor of Kenya on this subject. It is one of the many matters which is being brought to the notice of the new Governor and I have no doubt that Mr. MacDonald will give it his early attention.
