HC Deb 20 December 1962 vol 669 c211W
39. Mr. Fletcher

asked the Secretary to the Treasury in what way, arising out of his predecessor's statement of 3rd July, it is intended that the three Royal Commissions on Ancient and Historical Monuments should be more selective in their work.

Mr. du Cann

It is too early to say. The three Royal Commissions have been considering the matter and it will be pursued by the new Standing Committee on the recording of Ancient Monuments and Historic Buildings which will meat shortly under my Chairmanship. It is a question of balancing the intensity of the coverage against the need for speedier publication.
