§ Mr. Dalyellasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will appoint a committee, including representatives of his Department, the local authorities concerned with overcrowding problems in conurbations on a river, and shipowners, to explore the possibilities of subsidising temporary accommodation in obsolete liners for those waiting for a house of their own, with a view to introducing legislation.
§ Mr. NobleIt would be premature to consider the question of subsidy before the practical aspects of the hon. Member's suggestion have been studied. That is not, I think, an appropriate task for a committee, but I shall be ready to examine any proposals that housing authorities may submit to me.
