60. Mrs. Butlerasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what further consideration has been given by his Department to the building of a new national administrative centre in a new town outside the congested area of South-East England.
§ Mr. BarberNothing has happened to lead the Government to alter its view, as expressed by my right hon. Friend the former Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Housing and Local Government on 6th March. It is still the policy of Her Majesty's Government that Government staffs should, wherever possible, be moved out of Central London.
