HC Deb 18 December 1962 vol 669 c156W
30. Sir J. Langford-Holt

asked the Postmaster-General what arrangements were made by Her Majesty's Government regarding consultation between those concerned with telephone communications and road repairs before work was begun on the A.5 road between Ensdon House and Roddfern Lane, Shropshire.

Miss Pike

There was full consultation between the Post Office and the county council before the work started, and there was close co-operation to keep the cost and disturbance to a minimum. The Post Office work involved raising 18 manhole covers. To have carried this out before the final road surface was laid would have obstructed the surfacing machines.
