HC Deb 17 December 1962 vol 669 c125W
1. Mr. Fletcher

asked the Minister without Portfolio what publicity he is giving to the rôle being played by this country in world affairs.

Mr. Deedes

Explaining the rôle of this country in world affairs is the responsibility of the Government as a whole, above all in Parliament which must always be the principal forum for the presentation of policy. The Central Office of Information produce material for distribution, mainly overseas, on aspects of foreign and Commonwealth affairs. At home I think there is no batter way of conveying what we say than through free institutions such as the Press and broadcasting.
