HC Deb 17 December 1962 vol 669 cc148-9W
Mr. Mason

asked the Secretary of State for Air if he will institute an inquiry into the state of the messing facilities at the Royal Air Force Station at Melksham; to what extent Royal Air Force personnel are using the Navy, Army and Air Force Institutes facilities in preference to the station mess at additional personal cost; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. H. Fraser

I have had no complaints about the messing facilities at Royal Air Force, Melksham. About 20 per cent. of the airmen living on the station buy a snack or a supper meal in the Navy, Army and Air Force Institutes Club. This is a fairly common practice in the Royal Air Force.
