HC Deb 17 December 1962 vol 669 c136W
78. Mr. Mackie

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what are the arrangements for supplying Charollais semen to Northern Ireland and Eire.

Mr. Scott-Hopkins

The Northern Ireland Government Artificial Insemination Centre is obtaining Charollais semen from artificial insemination centres in England and Wales for the purpose of cross-breeding trials similar to those being conducted here. There are no arrangements for supplying Charollais semen to Eire, since its export to destinations outside the United Kingdom is prohibited.
