HC Deb 17 December 1962 vol 669 c137W
80. Mr. Rankin

asked the Minister of Aviation whether, in order to prevent the recurrence of air disasters such as the recent one above Reading, he will prohibit aircraft flying in or near United Kingdom airports unless they are under ground control.

Mr. Amery

My chief inspector of accidents has not yet completed his investigation into the cause of the air collision near Reading on 4th November last. I am therefore unable to comment on the cause of the accident or on any measures which may be considered necessary and feasible to prevent a recurrence.
