HC Deb 12 December 1962 vol 669 c81W
Mr Curran

asked the Minister of Transport what proposals he has received from the London Transport Executive for extending the Piccadilly Underground line from Hounslow West to London Airport; and what is the estimated cost of the scheme.

Mr. Marples

In 1961 the London Transport Executive estimated that the cost of extending the line from Hounslow West to London (Heathrow) Airport, including the provision of additional rolling stock, would be about £12 million. I am informed that the possibilities of a less costly scheme are at present being studied by the Executive.
