§ 87. Mr. Wiggasked the Secretary of State for War whether he will make a statement on Exercise Vortex, conducted jointly by the Medical Research Council and the Army Personnel Research Committee, into the problems of heat acclimatisation.
§ Mr. ProfumoExercise Vortex was an experiment conducted by the Army Personnel Research Committee of the Medical Research Council during 1960. Its main aim was to establish the worth-whileness of a system of acclimatising troops to heat artificially. In the event the results were inconclusive, and further research is in progress.
