HC Deb 11 December 1962 vol 669 c58W
Mr. Turner

asked the Secretary of State for War what is the estimated cost of clearing the various sites at Woolwich Barracks of bricks and rubble; and when the clearance will take place.

Mr. Profumo

The large pile of rubble on the west side of the barracks is to be sold as soon as possible. Tenders have been invited, but the price is not yet known. It will be a condition of the contract that the purchaser shall remove the rubble within a very few weeks.

The other piles of rubble within the barracks will of course be required as hardcore for rebuilding.
