asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what was the expenditure in Gambia on education in 1961–62.

Mr. Fisher

Expenditure under the recurrent budget in 1961 was £199,061, and is estimated to be about £240,000 for 1962. Capital expenditure in 1961 was about £70,000, and in 1962 will be about £160,000.
