§ Mr. du CannTwenty-three thousand, one hundred and one First Degrees 219W were obtained in British Universities in the Academic Year 1960–61. A further 1,075 External Degrees were awarded, making a total of 24,176 First Degrees. No comparable figures for that year have yet been published by U.N.E.S.C.O. for the other countries mentioned.
