HC Deb 05 December 1962 vol 668 c171W
6. Mr. Warbey

asked the Minister of Transport why he approved the recommendation of the Central Transport Consultative Committee that the British Transport Commission be permitted to withdraw the passenger service from Nottingham Victoria to Pinxton South, and to close Pinxton South, Pye Hill and Jacksdale stations for all traffic, both passenger and goods.

Mr. Marples

The Transport Users Consultative Committee for the East Midland Area considered objections to the proposal. They were satisfied that the alternative services were reasonable. The Central Transport Consultative Committee endorsed the Area Committee's decision. I found no evidence that the proposals would cause hardship to users.
