§ 75. Mr. Milneasked the Minister of Labour what was the extent of unemployment in Blyth, Bedlington and Seaton Valley areas in October, 1960; and what were the corresponding figures for the same period in 1951.
§ Mr. HareAt 10th October, 1960, 448 workers were registered as unemployed at Blyth, 166 at Bedlington Station and 167 at Seaton Delaval; the corresponding figures at 15th October, 1951, were 368, 189 and 61 respectively.
§ 76. Mr. Milneasked the Minister of Labour what were the unemployment figures in Blyth, Bedlington and Seaton Valley areas at the latest available date; what were the age groups of those unemployed; and for how long each had been on the unemployed register.
§ Mr. HareAt 12th November there were 661 workers registered as unemployed at Blyth, 368 at Bedlington Station and 300 at Seaton Delaval. Following are tables giving an analysis of unemployment by age and duration as at 16th July, 1962, the latest date for which such an analysis is available.
