§ Sir E. BoyleOne of the main points of contact is the examination for the General Certificate of Education. I am advised on this by the Secondary School Examinations Council, which contains representatives of both the schools and the universities. Moreover, the projects for the improvement of science teaching in schools sponsored by the Nuffield Foundation, in association with the Curriculum Study Group of my Department, have Consultative Committees embracing both the schools and the universities.
