§ 33. Mr. Dalyellasked the Parliamentary Secretary for Science what research is now taking place under Government auspices into the relevance of microbiology to coal and petroleum; how much of such research is being carried out in Scotland; what applications for grants for such research have been received by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research; and what steps are being taken to promote research in this subject.
§ Mr. Denzil FreethI would refer the hon. Member to the Answer I gave on 28th May this year to a Question by the hon. Member for Hayes and Harlington (Mr. Skeffington). The Department of Scientific and Industrial Research have received no applications for grants for research in this field.
