HC Deb 04 December 1962 vol 668 c160W
85. Mrs. Braddock

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government and Minister for Welsh Affairs how many houses are scheduled for demolition in Liverpool; how many are unfit and requiring major repairs; and how many families registered on the Liverpool housing list are awaiting housing.

Sir K. Joseph

In 1955 the city council reported that they had 26,959 unfit houses to be demolished and 61,274 to be repaired. Since then, 8,003 houses have been demolished.

I am informed that there are 46,724 applicants on the council's present waiting list.
