HC Deb 03 December 1962 vol 668 c137W
Sir W. Robson-Brown

asked the Minister of Defence if he will now change the title of the Chief of the Imperial General Staff, there being no longer an Imperial General Staff, and direct that the holder of that office be called the Chief of Military Staff.

Mr. Thorneycroft

This title has been in use for over 50 years and I do not believe it gives rise to any misunderstanding.
