§ Mr. Hoosonasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will take steps to prevent the sale of 150W his Department's holding of Bach Eiddon at Aberhosan, Montgomery, until the dispute over the definition of respective grazing rights between that holding and the neighbouring holding of Penyglogg is settled.
§ Mr. Scott HopkinsNo. For the past seven years the Department has been trying, without success, to bring about a settlement of claims to grazing rights which would be acceptable to all concerned.
In accordance with the Government's policy of disposing of all land which is no longer required, my right hon. Friend has now given instructions for the land to be sold to the tenant of Bach Eiddon who is fully aware of his neighbour's claims and is prepared to buy subject to whatever rights may exist. In the circumstances I see no reason why the question of grazing rights may not be left to the parties directly concerned to settle.
