Robson Brownasked the Minister of Pensions and National Insurance if he will abolish the earnings rule now applied to widowed mothers receiving National Insurance pensions, thus giving exemption to these women in the same way as it is given to war widows and widowed mothers under the Industrial Injuries Act.
§ Mr. N. MacphersonI would refer my hon. Friend to the reply given by my hon. Friend the Joint Parliamentary Secretary to my hon. Friend the Member for Moss Side on 2nd July. Provision for war widows and for widowed mothers under the Industrial Injuries Act is made on different principles from that made under the National Insurance Acts.
