asked the Minister of Labour (1) how many unemployed there were in Lanarkshire in March, 1961, and March, 1962;

(2) how many people of those unemployed in Lanarkshire have been without work for two weeks, eight weeks, 26 weeks and 52 weeks, respectively.

There were 7,536 unemployed in Lanarkshire on 13th March, 1961, and 10,940 on 12th March, 1962. The following table is a detailed analysis of unemployment by duration at the later date.
