HC Deb 18 April 1962 vol 658 c73W
Mr. Biggs-Davison

asked the Minister of Labour what progress has been made in the discussions he is having with the Home Secretary concerning abuses of the au pair system; in how many cases instances of abuse have been brought to his attention; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Green

The entry and stay of foreign girls coming to this countryau pair are matters for my right hon. Friend the Home Secretary. While we understand from him that the number of specific complaints that he has received is inconsiderable, we are agreed that more specific guidance should be given both the foreign girls coming au pair and to their hosts as to their respective obligations. This will be done.
