HC Deb 17 April 1962 vol 658 c58W
Mr. Hendry

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what progress has been made by the various bodies which he set up last November to review matters concerning the teaching profession.

Mr. Maclay

The Working Party which has been considering the arrangements between the Scottish Education Department and the teachers' associations for consultation on questions relating to curricula, examinations and school organisation has completed its task and its report is being published today. I understand that the Committee under the Chairmanship of Lord Wheatley and the other Working Parties have carried their examination of the various matters remitted to them a considerable distance but that it will be some time before any of them is in a position to report.
