HC Deb 17 April 1962 vol 658 c45W
91. Viscount Hinchingbrooke

asked the Postmaster-General whether he is aware of the delay in obtaining phonograms and foreign phonograms at all hours of the day and evening both in London and in the country; and what steps he is taking against the discouragement now being given to these telephone services.

Mr. Bevins

I do not think there is general dissatisfaction with these services, although I agree that there are delays in some areas. The maintenance of a good service on foreign phonograms in London has been particularly difficult, due to shortage of staff. I am doing all I can to improve the position.
