asked the Minister of Power what steps have been taken by his Department during the last six months to encourage the export of coals; and what have been the results.

The normal Government services to help exports are available to coal exporters. In the six months up to the end of February, 1962, coal exports were 2,789,000 tons valued at £10,360,000, compared with 2,701,000 tons valued at £9,932,000 a year ago.
