HC Deb 16 April 1962 vol 658 c14W
78. Mr. Swingler

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what has been the total amount of grants to small farmers in the borough and rural district of Newcastle-under-Lyme in each of the last five years; and for what purposes they were made.

Mr. Vane

Except under the Small Farmer Schemes no distinction is made between small farmers and other farmers for the purposes of paying grants and subsidies. I regret that borough and rural district figures relating to the Small Farmer Schemes are not readily available and could not be produced without very considerable expenditure of time and labour.
