§ Mr. Lilleyasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will make a statement about the first Report of the Development of Day-Release Committee of the Scottish Technical Education Consultative Council.
§ Mr. MaclayI have arranged for the publication of the Report today and for a supply of copies and of the circular issued to education authorities to be placed in the Vote Office. I have sent copies of the Report to education authorities and invited them to take early action on the recommendations addressed to them. I am consulting the local authority associations and representative industrial bodies on the recommendation that a scheme of compulsory registration of young persons training for skilled occupation should be introduced.
