73. Mr. J. Hillasked the Minister of Labour, in view of the decision of Scottish Oils Limited to close the shale mines in the Lothians, what steps he proposes to take to ensure that alternative employment will be made available for the workers at present employed in that industry.
§ Mr. GreenOur local officers will do all they can to find alternative employment for those who seek it. There are over 6,000 jobs in prospect in the area.
