HC Deb 02 April 1962 vol 657 c12W
66. Mr. Kelley

asked the Minister of Health how many mentally subnormal children are on the hospital waiting lists in the Sheffield region; how long these children have been waiting for hospital places; and what are the possibilities of some immediate extension of hospital accommodation for the treatment of the subnormal in the region.

Miss Pitt

About 300. I regret that the figures are not analysed by length of time on the list. The Regional Hospital Board expects to have added 206 beds for children and 60 for adults by the end of the year, and 40 more for children by next spring.
