HC Deb 24 October 1961 vol 646 cc77-8W
100. Mr. H. Hynd

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he will now make a statement about deportation of Commonwealth and Irish immigrants who become criminals.

Mr. R. A. Butler

I am unable to make any further statement on this matter at present.

101. Mr. N. Pannell

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what was the net inflow of immigrants for the nine months ended 30th September, 1961; from which countries they principally came; and how the figures for the respective countries compare with those for the corresponding period of 1960.

Mr. Lipton

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many immigrants came to the United Kingdom in 1960 and 1961 to date from Eire, the West Indies, India, Pakistan and other Commonwealth countries, respectively; and what is the total number of immigrants from these countries now settled in the United Kingdom.
