§ Sir W. Robson Brownasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will introduce legislation to restrict the sale of fireworks to children to a short period before the 5th November, and to restrict the explosion of fireworks to the 5th November only, except when expressly permitted by local authorities or police forces, in view of the hardship caused to infants, the sick and aged, and to domestic animals by the indiscriminate letting off of fireworks over a protracted period.
§ Mr. R. A. ButlerI am not satisfied that there is a sufficient case to justify the additional restrictions suggested.
