Royleasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department when he expects to receive the Report of the Departmental Committee on the Probation Service; and whether he will give an assurance that prompt action will be taken in respect of the recommendations of the Committee, in view of the present shortage of probation officers.
§ Mr. R. A. ButlerI understand that the Committee expects to report in the very near future upon all matters included in their terms of reference, except the approved probation hostel system. The Committee's recommendations will receive prompt attention.
