Mr. Sorensenasked the Lord Privy Seal what further official contacts Her Majesty's Government have had with the Yemeni Government during the last six months; to what extent Her Majesty's Government's policy towards the Yemen has been affected by the withdrawal of Syria from the United Arab Republic; and whether trade between the Yemen and the United Kingdom has been expanded.
§ Mr. P. ThomasDuring the last six months there have been the normal diplomatic contacts with the Yemeni Government. The withdrawal of Syria from the United Arab Republic has not affected Her Majesty's Government's policy of friendship towards the Yemen. Although trade with the Yemen is still very small there has been a slight increase this year over the previous year.
