HC Deb 27 November 1961 vol 650 c14W
96. Mr. Woodburn

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether he is aware of the difficulties arising under existing arrangements in Scottish courts in providing defence in cases of persons without means; whether he has completed his consideration of the Guthrie Committee's Report and his consultations with the Law Society of Scotland; and what steps he now proposes to take to ensure legal representation in all courts.

Mr. Maclay

I am not yet in a position to add to the reply that my hon. Friend the Joint Under-Secretary of State gave to a Question by the hon. Member for Glasgow, Craigton (Mr. Millan) on 15th November.
