§ 77. Mr. Graham Pageasked the Minister of Labour when he proposes to appoint a day from which the payment of wages by cheque shall be lawful in accordance with section 1 (3, d) of the Payment of Wages Act, 1960.
§ Mr. HareThe provisions covering payment into a bank account or by postal order or money order will have been in effect for one year on 1st December. I propose shortly to consult with interested organisations about the working of these provisions. I shall then consider the question of bringing into force those provisions relating to the payment of wages by cheque.
