§ Mr. Chetwyndasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government and Minister for Welsh Affairs when he expects to receive the report of the Local Government Boundary Commission on the proposals for the reform of local government boundaries in the Tees-side area.
Dr. HillI understand that the Local Government Commission has found it desirable to review the north-eastern counties in conjunction with the East and West Ridings of Yorkshire. For this reason it has deferred the publication of its draft proposals for these counties until next year. Local authorities and other bodies will have an opportunity to discuss the draft proposals with the Commission before a report is submitted to me.
