§ 38. Mr. F. Noel-Bakerasked the President of the Board of Trade if he is aware that certificates are being issued, in relation to buildings, purporting to be of an official nature and to guarantee the quality of the building; and if he will introduce legislation to control the issue of such certificates.
§ Mr. ErrollI am aware that certificates are being issued by the National House-Builders Registration Council, a body which I understand to have been approved for the purpose of Section 5 of the Buildings Societies Act, 1939. On the general issue of controlling seals of 107W approval, I propose to await the advice of the Committee on Consumer Protection.
