§ Mr. RipponIt is not expected that the recent nuclear weapon tests will bring about any appreciable deposition of long-lived radioactive material on the United Kingdom for several months. Preliminary tests for iodine-131 have not yet shown any measureable amount in Manchester and Salford drinking water or in the other supplies which have been sampled, but tests are continuing.
