§ Mr. RentonThe Fireworks Act, 1951, empowers my right hon. Friend to order the seizure and destruction of dangerous fireworks, and steps are taken to ensure that fireworks sold to the public ate not dangerous if used according to the directions and with care. Accidents are generally due to misuse. But my right hon. Friend has been much concerned to read reports in the Press of incidents 73W resulting in injury and death; he is seeking fuller information and when he has received it he will consider whether any further action is possible and desirable.
