§ Mr. Wallasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether Her Majesty's Government are making a contribution to the official British Honduras Hurricane Appeal Fund, which has now been set up.
§ Mr. MaudlingYes. Her Majesty's Government have agreed to make a grant of £10,000 to the British Honduras Hurricane Relief Fund. This is intended to be an immediate contribution towards immediate needs, to start off the Fund. A Supplementary Estimate for this sum will be presented at the earliest convenient opportunity, and in the meantime necessary funds will be issued from the Civil Contingencies Fund. When it has been possible to assess the full extent of the damage, Her Majesty's Government will consider what further assistance they can give towards the rehabilitation of the devastated Colony.
