§ 52. Mr. Straussasked the Minister of Transport when he expects to announce his decision about the building of the Victoria-Walthamstow line.
§ Mr. MarplesAs I explained in the answers I gave on 19th April, with the railways in their present state, the new Chairman of the B.T.C. will have to make his assessment of the situation on the railways as a whole and the Victoria line will be considered in that context. In these circumstances, I cannot add to the reply I gave on that occasion to the hon. Member for Islington, East (Mr Fletcher).
§ Mr. Biggs-Davisonasked the Minister of Transport what representations his Department has lately received from the Association of Scientific Workers, or other bodies about the proposed Victoria underground line.
§ Mr. MarplesMy Department has received no representations from the Association of Scientific Workers about the proposed Victoria underground line. No formal representations have been made to me recently by other bodies.
