§ Mr. RamsdenThe cost per head of the Army Cadet Force and that part of the Combined Cadet Force for which I am responsible is estimated this year at £22 and £10 respectively. There are no exact statistics to show what percentage of members of these cadet forces enlist in the Army, but about 16 per cent. of adult recruits and 33 per cent. of boys enlisting into junior leader units and Army apprentices schools have been in the Army Cadet Force. 78 per cent. of the cadets at Sandhurst have been in the Combined Cadet Force.
