§ 46. Mr. Hector Hughesasked the Minister of Transport if he will hold a special inquiry into the dearth of orders in the shipbuilding and ship-repairing yards of North-East Scotland and report the result to the House.
§ Vice-Admiral Hughes-HallettA special sub-committee of the Shipbuilding Advisory Committee has recently examined the causes of the shortage of orders in the country as a whole. The report of the Fleck Committee is of particular concern to the shipyards in North-East Scotland. I do not think a further inquiry would help.
