§ 86. Mr. Pentlandasked the Minister of Power what arrangements are made by his department for research into the gasification of coal by the Lurgi process.
§ Mr. WoodThe Lurgi process has already been developed to a commercial stage. One plant in Scotland is now producing gas and a second is being built in the West Midlands. Valuable experience will be provided by these 131W plants and the Gas Council will pursue any promising lines of investigation as part of its general programme of research and development.
