§ 20. Mr. Montgomeryasked the Minister of Education whether he will make a statement about the Third Report of the Secondary School Examinations. Council, which made proposals for a reform of the General Certificate of Education examination at advanced level.
§ Sir D. EcclesI have recently received the final recommendations of the Council on the scheme proposed in this Report. The Council consulted the universities and took account of comments received from other bodies. It has asked me to go ahead and implement 65W the scheme with one modification. I have agreed to do so. A Circular will be issued today, together with the Chairman's letter to me.
