§ 14. Mr. Millanasked the Minister of Pensions and National Insurance what happens under the graduated pension scheme to any benefits earned by the following categories assuming death before reaching retirement age, namely, married men, unmarried men, married women, and unmarried women.
§ Mr. Boyd-CarpenterA married man can qualify his widow for one half of the graduated retirement pension he earns before his death. Subject to this, no part of the retirement pension is or can be drawn by contributors who do not reach pensionable age.
