§ Dr. A. Thompsonasked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether he will set up a small committee to examine the possibility of establishing a national theatre for Scotland.
§ Mr. MaclayNo. The Government's policy for giving increased support to the living theatre was indicated in the statement by my right hon. Friend the Chancellor of the Exchequer on 21st March. The proposals now being worked out by the Arts Council in accordance with that policy will cover the repertory theatres in Scotland as well as in England.
