asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will make a further statement about the participation of the United Kingdom in the Freedom From Hunger Campaign of the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations.

Yes. As announced in Rome this morning, His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh has accepted an invitation to become Patron of the National Campaign. The right honourable gentleman the Leader of the Opposition in another place, and the honourable Member for Orkney and Shetland in another place, have agreed to join my right honourable friend the Prime Minister in becoming Vice-Patrons. As already announced by my right honourable friend the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food on February 6, my noble friend Lord De La Warr has accepted an invitation to be Chairman of the Council. The names of other Vice-Patrons, Officers and Members of the Council will be announced later.
